Watch: Dave Grohl Plays The Drums On Hit Motörhead And Thin Lizzy Tracks For ‘Ride For Ronnie’ Event

They Played Motörhead's 'Bomber' And Thin Lizzy's 'Jailbreak'

Sunday marked Los Angeles’ fifth annual “Ride for Ronnie” event, which honours late metal musician Ronnie James Dio, and the concert saw surprise guest Dave Grohl to play the drums on hit Motörhead and Thin Lizzy tracks.

This year’s event opened up with a motorcycle ride from Harley Davidson of Glendale, ending in Los Encinos Park in Encino where the show took place. Grohl was joined on stage by Ricky Warwick (Thin Lizzy, Black Star Riders), Robbie Crane (Black Star Riders), and Keith Nelson (Buckcherry), and they performed killer tracks like Motörhead’s “Bomber” and Thin Lizzy “Jailbreak.”

The event raises money for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, which goes toward research and early detection of prostate, colon and stomach cancers.
