Pepper-Spray Backfires During Home Invasion In Barrie

Two men facing charges

Barrie Police have charged two men in their 30s after two home invasions last night near Mulcaster and McDonald Streets. A victim at one location was pepper-sprayed in the face. At the second address the pepper-spray backfired covering the two suspects. Police say both were found a short distance away, still feeling the effects of the spray. Charges include:

  • Assault with a Weapon- Bat
  • Assault with a Weapon- Pepper Spray
  • Assault with a Weapon- Gun x 3
  • Threats to Cause Bodily Harm
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose- Bat
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose- Pepper Spray
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose- Gun x 2
  • Firearm- Use While Committing Offence x 2
  • Attempt Break and Enter
  • Utter Threats- Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Administer Noxious Substance x 4

One of the accused was on a probation order to be good and keep the peace.
