Dave Grohl Set To Interview His Own Mother At Canadian Music Week

On May 10th At Osgoode Ballroom East

Attention Torontonians, it looks like we’re going to be getting a very special interview with Dave Grohl next month. On May 10th, 2019, the Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer is set to interview his very own mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, at the Osgoode Ballroom East from 2:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Schoolteacher Virginia has always spoken highly of her son and his career, but eventually she grew curious about how other mothers in her situation have seen their experience, and ended up creating From Cradle to Stage, which is a book of interviews with 18 other mothers of famous performers. The novel features discussions with women like Dr. Dre’s mom Verna Griffin, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello’s mom Mary Morello, and the mothers of Amy Winehouse and REM’s Michael Stipe.

This unique Q&A event will see Virginia’s famous child, Dave, interviewing her about her book and her own experience raising a child who was born to stand out.
