Local Resident Latest Tax Scam Victim
Innisfil Victim is out $4000
The tax scam is still making its rounds and the latest victim is from the Innisfil area. South Simcoe Police say the victim was instructed to purchase iTunes cards and read back the serial numbers over the phone. That person is now out 4-thousand dollars. Police say retailers are now being asked to keep an eye out for people, especially the elderly and other vulnerable victims and question their reason for large gift card purchases.
