Bradford Man Falls For Scam Text

He Thought He Could Make $500/Week, Instead He's Out Thousands

A Bradford man is out about three grand after falling for a new scam. He told South Simcoe Police on Tuesday that he got a text message offering $500 a week to wrap his car in advertising. He responded, and was sent a cheque for $3,000, with instructions to forward $2500 to the “artist” who’d be decalling the vehicle. After he sent the money, the cheque bounced. Police warn to be wary of any business offer, especially ones that come out of the blue.
