Cooling Stations Being Set Up For The Public
Baby its hot outside and according to the forecast its only gonna get hotter! Area health units are issuing advisories about the heat and how it can affect your health, especially if the very young and the elderly and people with chronic lung conditions. During a heat wave you are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay indoors if possible, and keep activity to a minimum. Cooling centers are being set up around the region. If you do not have access to a cool place to rest, may rec centers will be opening their doors to the public for that reason. New Market, Collingwood and Innisfil all have or will have centers set up starting today for the public to make use of. While you are keeping cool, don’t forget your furry friends. Everyone is reminded to leave pets at home unless you are going someplace cool and don’t leave your animals in a locked car.
