Longtime Barrie Broadcaster Bob McIntyre Has Passed Away

Weatherman Entertained Barrie Viewers for 40 Years

Bob McIntyre A familiar face to Barrie residents has passed away. CTV weatherman Bob McIntyre passed away at RVH today, a fixture in the community for over 40 years before his retirement last year. His wife says Bob’s health took a turn in recent days. He was 73.

Bob had been Barrie’s weather guru since the early 80s, but some will remember Bob had a radio career before joining CKVR, now CTV, in Brockville, Niagara, Toronto and here in Barrie. Jeff Walther, who worked with Bob at CKBB in the 70s – and in other capacities since – remembers him as the quintessential broadcaster…

CTV Barrie Anchor Tony Grace says despite his stature in the community, Bob never let it go to his head…

Many come and go in this business, few are remembered the way Bob McIntyre will be remembered.
