Well if you have some blurry-eyed co-workers around the office today, it’s most likely they were up watching the World Series finale last night.
In what turned out to be one of the most historic and exciting World Series Championships, a thrilling game 7 had everything you could imagine including a movie-like plot together with a Cinderella-like finish. There was even a rain delay after Cleveland had come-from-behind to tie the game at 6-6. The Cubs couldn’t win the game in the bottom of the 9th with the rain teaming down. Finally, the tarps came out and the suspense continued through the rain delay.
In the end, the Chicago Cubs in the wee hours of Thursday morning became the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit since the Pirates beat the Orioles in 1979, and they go on to claim their first World Series title since 1908. The Chicago fans wept, laughed and hugged each other in the stands surrounded by the dejected hometown Cleveland fans that were hoping for their own World Series miracle, but back in Wrigleyville the party was already in full swing.
