Barrie Police had THEIR hands full with impaired drivers early this morning. One driver was discovered after someone made a noise complaint in the north end of the city.
When police responded they found a vehicle parked with the stereo cranked up and a male passed out in the drivers seat, with an open beer can in his hands. Officers woke him up and he provided a breath sample. The 20 year old Barrie man has man has since been charged with impaired.
A call just after 1 had police bringing out the canine unit, after a car ended up in the ditch on Essa Rd. A witness advised police officers that after the car hit the dirt, the driver took off on foot and headed into a wooded area. The dogs picked up the scent and a 26 year old Collingwood man was found nearby. Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash and the man has been been charged.
