A $300 Million Research Ship May Be Named ‘Boaty McBoatface’

A new, $300M research ship in England needs a name, so the National Research Council asked people to make suggestions online. Conventional names such as Endeavor and Falcon were put forth, as well as a few not-so-traditional monikers like I’m The Captian Now and Not The Titanic. But the name that’s getting the most votes is…Boaty McBoatface. It may be a longshot as winner. A caveat on the website states that “the final decision on the name of the ship will be taken by the Chief Executive of NERC.”
