Hard Drives Replaced With Cheaper Versions Before Being Returned

Looking To Identify Fraud SuspectHere’s a sophisticated twist on a typical scam. Barrie Police say someone returned a few pricey hard drives to a Staples store in town, back on February 17th. The guy had the receipt too, and everything looked legit. It wasn’t until later, when a technician opened up the products to check them out. That’s when investigators say it was discovered the internal components of these hard drives were replaced with the dime-store version. The suspect is described as;

  • Male
  • Asian decent
  • 20-25 yrs.
  • black hair
  • Stocky build, 5’5”
  • Glasses
  • Wearing a black jacket and dark pants
