Man Fights Off Carjackers With Gas Pump

Video from a gas station security camera is circulating online. In it you can see a man minding his own business while pumping gas into his car. Suddenly a van pulls up beside him with four people in it. The doors fly open and three people jump out with their hoods up. They start to surround the man.

This sort of situations isn’t uncommon, but what happens next is entirely unexpected …

The man fights off the carjackers with the gas pump in what looks like a scene right out of a movie.

Not caring if he douses his own car, the man soaks each assailant in turn as they approach. The shock of this causes the carjackers to quickly retreat and drive off. But not before the man gets a chance to spray more gasoline into their van through the open side door.

And this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. In 2019, a woman from Georgia was pumping gas into her car when a man got into the driver’s seat. The woman pulled the gas pump from her car and soaked the criminal in gas. Like the carjackers in this video, the man fled. In 2017, it was a woman in Massachusetts.

I want to say that if I was in that situation I would do the same thing, but… I doubt it — I think I would have just stood there frozen.

Nobody knows what became of the man and his would-be carjackers after the incident. But a nice dose of justice was served.
