Barrie's Butter Tart Festival

Downtown Barrie serves up something sweet at the annual Open Air Dunlop Butter Tart Festival along the shores of Kempenfelt Bay.

Head to Meridian Place and Dunlop Street from 10-5pm for over one hundred vendors offering classic and creative butter tarts, baked treats, crafty artisans, live entertainment and family-friendly fun.

From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM a community panel of judges will sample, score, debate, and ultimately crown the 2026 Butter Tart Champions.

Explore local shops, waterfront views, and sweet treats while soaking in the summer atmosphere as downtown comes alive with visitors from across Ontario.

At 7:30 PM, legendary Canadian rock icon Kim Mitchell takes the stage for a special concert presented by the City of Barrie.
