Cookstown Police Wake Sleeping Driver To Charge Him With DUI

Police Say He Parked Right in The Middle Of The Street

A choice of parking spots has lead to drunk driving charges. South Simcoe Police got the call of a vehicle parked right in the middle of a residential street in Cookstown, early Sunday morning. Police arrived, boxed in the vehicle, and tried to wake the sleeping driver. Officer say it took some shouting and shaking to rouse the 38-year-old Barrie man, who will now have to walk to court in December, after his licence and vehicle were taken from him.
