Midland Police Service Outsourcing 911 Duties
No disruption in service despite Owen Sound taking 911 calls from Midland
As of midnight tonight, if you call 911 in Midland, you won’t be speaking to anyone in Midland. Thanks to a municipal decision, all of Midland’s 911 dispatching services will be handled by the Owen Sound Police Service. This will not mean for a disruption in service, according to Midland Police Services Inspector Ron Wheeldon, merely a different call centre taking your call. There will be staff on duty during regular business hours at the Midland Police Services office, while two telephones have been made available in the lobby during off times.
