Canada’s Biggest Musical Weekend

A Great Night Supporting Canadian Music

Calgary Alberta played host to the 2016 Juno Awards at the Saddledome hosted by singer-songwriter Jann Arden and former Olympic medalist and Amazing Race Canada host Jon Montgomery.

With a lot of the awards being passed out at a special ceremony the night prior, the Junos have been trimmed down to a two hour broadcast featuring the presentation of the top award categories and various performances from current and up and coming artists to round out the night.

Burton Cumming was officially inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Fame by surprise guests Nickleback. Another surprise was seeing Chad Kroeger together with Avril Lavigne almost 7 months since their separation.

Burton Cummings gave an emotional speech in which he had wished his late mother could have been here to see the night. He ended up closing the broadcast featuring a medley of some of his many hits performed first by Jann Arden with Shawn Hook, and then with internationally renowned vocal group The Tenors and finally Burton himself along with his classic rock backing band The Carpet Frogs.
