Bugs Bunny And The Monstars Return For Space Jam Themed Commercial

It may not be that Space Jam sequel we’ve been hearing about, but the Monstars are back…in an ad for Jordan-brand

This year marks Space Jam‘s 20th anniversary, and in celebration Air Jordan is bringing back a full collection of sneakers and apparel inspired by the film and the story.

In the original Space Jam, Bugs Bunny and his fellow Looney Tunes enlist Michael Jordan to help beat these physically enhanced aliens in a game of b-ball. Now, the Monstars have set their sights on revenge for MJ beating them in the original movie.

Ending their winning streak is a group of young kids who arm themselves with athletic gear, Jordan sneakers (of course), and Blake Griffin himself with the help of Bugs. Jimmy Butler, of the Chicago Bulls, also makes an appearance.

Back in May, word got out that director Justin Lin (Star Trek Beyond) and LeBron James were in talks for Space Jam 2 — with or without the blessing of original director Joe Pytka. While that continues to be sorted out, we at least have this ad to tide us over.
