Tom Cochrane Has Stretch of Manitoba Highway Named After Him

A 322-kilometre stretch of highway running out of Lynn Lake, Manitoba has a new name. In honour of the community’s most famous son, the roadway has been renamed to “Tom Cochrane’s Life Is a Highgway” after the Juno-award winning singer. Cochrane was born and raised in Lynn Lake and was on hand as Manitoba’s Premier today unveiled new signs for the highway at the Winnipeg Legislative building. Cochrane said he will be performing in his home town of Lynn Lake next year, but he will be in Barrie first, to help someone burn their mortgage.
