2016 County Budget Will Add 2% To Municipal Property Tax Bill

Will add $6.00 per $100,000 of property assessment

Simcoe County Council today approved a $449-million budget for 2016. It focuses on maintaining existing services and service levels, while continuing to invest in Roads, Economic Development, Solid Waste Management, and Social Housing (see breakdown below or click here for a detailed explanation). “Providing our residents with a high level of services they expect and need, while remaining fiscally responsible is very important to our Council,” said Warden Gerry Marshall. “This budget follows our strategy of continuing our investment in social and community services, health services, and economic development, while fostering our many vital municipal and community partnerships.” The budget will add 2 per cent to municipal property tax bills – approximately $6.00 per $100,000 of property assessment.
