South End Barrie Shoplifting Attempt Thwarted By Store Security

Woman Charged After Allegedly Trying to Make a Run For It With A Full Cart

A Barrie woman will have her day in court following a shoplifting attempt. Barrie Police say the 34-year-old woman filled a cart at the south end Barrie Wal-Mart yesterday evening, leaving the full cart near the store entrance before leaving. Police say she returned shortly afterwards, grabbed the cart and tried to take off. That’s when the store’s Loss Prevention Officers moved in and took the woman into custody. Police showed up and made the arrest official, giving her a February court date.
