Mercury Dumped In Waubaushine-Area Ditch

The mess is all cleaned up, but police want to know who dumped about four litres of mercury into a Tay Township ditch. Southern Georgian Bay OPP and the Tay Fire Service were called to deal with this around 7:00 Monday evening, a member of the public found the liquid substance in a ditch off to the side of Duck Bay Road near Quarry Road. OPP stress there is no danger to public safety, but are asking anyone with information on who may be responsible for this to give them a call.
