Canada ROCKS!

Is it just me, or does it seem Canada is doing unbelievably well at this summer’s Pan Am games? It has been a remarkable opening week for our Canadian athletes. After the first weekend, Canada was atop the medal count standings with an amazing 24 medals including 10 gold! The run continued into Monday and then Tuesday and this morning with 64 medals (19 Gold), now the question is, how long can it last?

After the years leading up to the Pan Am Games with the grumbling associated with the costs of hosting the games, the traffic congestion, HOV lanes complaints and the Canathletes1like, Canada’s performance at the games seems to have tempered a lot of the criticism and the nation and Toronto itself seem to be embracing the games, especially the athletes.

Anything can happen in the coming days, but if the rest of the Pan Am Games go as well as the first third, organizers are going to be very happy by the time we get to the closing ceremonies.
