The Ramleela Project, a volunteer-driven live theatrical production of the Ramayana, will be performed in Barrie on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM at The Loft Theatre (The Loft Art Space, 125 Anne Street South, hosted by Moving Art).
After a small-scale run in Collingwood sold out its first 100 tickets in just eight hours, organizers moved and expanded the production to a larger venue to meet overwhelming demand and a long waitlist. This retelling of the timeless epic is designed especially for children and youth growing up between cultures in Canada, offering them a way to connect with their heritage, core values, and the roots of traditions like Diwali.
The entire production is powered by local families who volunteer their time, artistic energy, and passion for cultural preservation, reflecting the vibrant and growing multicultural community of Simcoe County. Admission is free, with registration and waitlist access available through Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ramleela-tickets-2003319336062).
