Alliston & District Humane Society ROBBED!
ADHS stands to lose well over $10,000.00
Early Wednesday police confirm, somebody, or maybe multiple somebodies, broke into the Alliston & District Humane Society and left with tons of donations, supplies and fundraiser prizing.
Slated for the weekend was one of two important fundraisers, the ADHS Easter Egg Hunt and later on in the summer, the Annual Walk-a-dogathon both events prizing was stolen. Without these fundraisers, ADHS stands to lose well over $10,000.00
I got to speak with the ADHS Vice President, Jane Clarke briefly and she said, “It will be a while before we totally know what has to be replaced but it is a fair bit.” This is a terrible blow to a wonderful service provided in the community.
If you would like to make a donation of a physical item to the Alliston & District Humane Society, they are having an open house tomorrow, Saturday, April 13th @ 12pm-4pm. Volunteers will be onsite all day from 9am-4pm.
