Witnesses Sought After Dog Shot in East Gwillimbury

One Person In Custody, Police Say She's Uncooperative In Identifying Others

Investigators are hoping for witnesses after a dog was shot to death in East Gwillimbury. It happened way back on October 25th, a man walking his St. Bernard went into a store, leaving the dog tied up outside. When he came back out, two young intoxicated women claimed his dog bit them, allegedly threatening to kill the dog. The man and his dog went home, but he went back out for a few hours. By the time he got home, someone had broken into his place and shot the dog. After lengthy investigation, York Regional Police have charged a 26-year-old Thornhill woman with threatening to kill the animal, but say she remains uncooperative in identifying those who may be behind the break in and dog’s death. Police have obtained video surveillance showing three suspects. Have a look below and contact York Regional Police if you have any information.
