West Nile Found in Bradford

Mosquito Pool Tests Positive For The Virus

The Health Unit is issuing a friendly reminder about West Nile, after a mosquito pool in Bradford tested positive for the virus. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says you should use approved mosquito repellents to protect yourself from West Nile, along with light coloured clothing, and remove standing water around your place. West Nile won’t make everyone sick, but those who do show symptoms could have a fever, muscle weakness, or sensitivity to light. This is only the second positive test of the virus this season, the first was in Barrie last month.
