You’ve still got time to cast a line license free with Canada’s National Fishing Week. This is the closing stretch of a week where you can fish any Canadian lake license free, get out and enjoy with the kids it all wraps up on Sunday.
 
Barrie’s best tasting event kicks off today, the Craft Beer and BBQ Festival. Featuring ribs, pulled pork, chicken and more from award winning professional BBQ Teams. While sampling a cold one from 9 craft brewery’s many of which are brewed right here in Simcoe County. Open until 10p tonight from Heritage Park on Barrie’s Waterfront. Our 95 Days of Summer street team will be on location! 
 
32nd Annual Muskoka Pioneer Power Show starts today at the Fairgrounds in Bracebridge.
 
With over 150 performances spread over 12 different stages through 3 days the Mariposa Folk Festival launches today at Tudhope Park, Orillia.
 
Take in live music around Thornbury, Collingwood and Blue Mountain Village during The Peak to Shore Music Festival, today and all weekend.
 
Bad to The Bone will be heard across Bala Bay tonight when George Thorogood and The Destroyers hit the stage at The Kee in Muskoka.
 

July 9

 
One of Barrie’s best tasting events continues today, The Craft Beer and BBQ Festival. You can smell the ribs, pulled pork, chicken from miles around made by award winning professional BBQ Teams. Sample a cold one from 9 craft brewery’s many of which are brewed right here in Simcoe County. Open until 10p tonight from Heritage Park on Barrie’s Waterfront. Our 95 Days of Summer street team will be on location! 
 
The big guy will be downtown Bracebridge today for Santa Fest. Don’t miss the parade at 11am this morning on Manitoba Street, some of Santa’s friends will make appearances including, Elsa from Frozen. There will be family entertainment and all kinds of activities for the kids arranged by Santa.
 
32nd Annual Muskoka Pioneer Power Show continues today at the Fairgrounds in Bracebridge.
 
The 36th Annual Vintage Boat Show takes over the Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst today only. See over 100 antique and classic boats and classic cars on display as well.
 
In Huntsville it’s the 4th Annual Rotary Dockfest at River Mill Park.
 
Pride Marina in Lagoon City has the Ramara Classic Car Show today only.
 
With over 1 million lakes Canada is home to one of the most diverse natural environments on the planet and this is your second last day to take advantage of that. Canada’s National Fishing Week wraps up tomorrow, so get out and fish license free.
 
Our Barrie Baycats hit the road in Burlington for a 1p game time today. Tomorrow they’re home to Hamilton.
 
Gooderham in Haliburton is hosting Canada Day Part 2 today. With live music under the stars and a spectacular fireworks display from the Community Centre starting at 7p.
 
Race day at Sunset Speedway, Innisfil featuring twin 35 lap features for the Nascar Whelen Series Late Models and the visiting Lucas Oil TQ Can Am Midgets will put on a show for fans. 6pm opening green flag.

 

July 10

This is your last day to go fishing license free in Canada. Canada’s National Fishing Week wraps up after today, so get out and cast a line with your kids and take advantage of this opportunity.

Wednesday Discovery Harbour in Penentanguishene gives you the chance to go on a guided after dark Ghost Tour by candlelight. Listen for footsteps in the hallway and watch for figures in the window. Wednesday’s this summer starting July 13th from 9pm-1030pm.
