The first trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night, giving us our first extended look at Tom Holland as Spidey. Homecoming is the latest restart for the character since the Amazing Spider-Man films, and is the second Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance for Peter Parker following last year’s Captain America: Civil War (which he was awesome in).
The trailer follows Spider-Man as he is back living his boring teenage life after getting a taste of the Avenger life on Team Iron Man. Obviously, the teen web slinger is totally bored fighting petty street crime; he wants to be a superhero. Enter Tony Stark, who, of course, quashes his dreams and tells him he’s not ready yet. Cue the teenage rebellion – Spidey interrupts a bank robbery, scales tall buildings and tangles with Michael Keaton’s Vulture (who scores a 10/10 on the cool villain costume scale).
Look, Homecoming isn’t reinventing the superhero movie wheel here, but it looks SUPER fun and I can’t wait.
