VCR Days Numbered

Sales dwindling, parts scarce

If you’ve been putting off buying a VCR (?) you’d better get a wiggle on. Funai Electric, the last manufacturer to make VCRs, says it will stop making them at the end of August. It says it’s getting harder and harder to source the small parts needed to build them. Only 750,000 VCRs sold last year; 15-million units a year were sold at the height of its popularity. They were first introduced 33 years ago.
