Too Close For Comfort

Driver Charged With Impaired

A mother and child are lucky to have each other after a close call at the side of the highway Sunday night. South Simcoe Police were called by a concerned citizen who witnessed a driver who failed to remain at the scene of a collision after narrowly missing the woman who was standing inside the back door of the car, strapping her child into a car seat. Police say the 36 year old suspect came so close to the woman that his vehicle hit the open door of her car. Police managed to catch up to the driver, the Maple area man is now facing 7 charges, including impaired and failing to remain.
