Third Tornado Of The Season Hit Muskoka on Canada Day

EF-O Twister Did Little Damage To Swift Rapids Waterfront

Environment Canada is confirming the season’s third tornado, even though it was just a baby. Weather officials poured over video evidence and witness statements, and say a EF-0 twister touched down in Swift Rapids around 3:30pm on July 1st. They say the tornado had a very narrow damage path, about 30m wide, along the lakeshore of the community about 10km outside Gravenhurst. Earlier this month, Environment Canada confirmed the second tornado of the season, happening on the same day, July 1st, north of Peterborough.
