Thefts In Barrie and Alliston

One Person Facing Charges, Officers For Hoping More Arrests Soon

A few thefts in the area, only one person caught yet. A 50-year-old New Tecumseth woman is up on charges after the OPP say she swiped a bunch of stuff from a local garden centre. They say she went to the Highway 89 business a few times last week, arriving in the wee hours to load up her car with goods, and drive away. Police say she was caught on camera the whole time, which made it easy to track down and arrest the woman. She is facing five charges of Theft.

Meanwhile, Barrie Police say someone broke into a Gables Way home through a patio sliding door sometime over the course of yesterday afternoon, and made off with some jewellery. Cops are hoping you may have seen something suspicious in the area and want to give them a call to chat about it.

In an unrelated crime, Barrie Police want to find the owners of two pieces of jewellery located during a theft investigation. If the necklace and ring pictured below belong to you, call Barrie Police at (705)725-7025.
