‘The Walking Dead’ Get’s Another New Spinoff Series

The New Series Will Have Two Female Heroes At The Helm

It looks like zombies will never die. This morning, AMC has announced plans for yet another spinoff series linked to The Walking Dead.

The yet-to-be-titled show will run for 10 episodes, and is set to be created by previous showrunner Scott M. Gimple and flagship writer Matt Negrete, who is set to become a showrunner. “I’m beyond excited to be a part of this new show set in The Walking Dead universe,” Negrete explains, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Writing and producing for the original series has been the job of a lifetime and I’m honoured to be working with Scott and all the find Dead folks at AMC in this new capacity.”

The series is set to revolve around the first generation of people to grow up during the apocalypse, with two female heroes at the helm. “Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever,” the formal logline reads. “Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”

Production of the new spinoff is set to start in Virginia this summer, and is expected to premiere on AMC in 2020.
