We all know the Janis Joplin version of Piece of my Heart, but you ever listened to the original? Written by Jerry Ragovoy and Bert Berns, they gave it to singer Erma Franklin in 1967.
It experienced mild success but became a huge hit for Joplin just one year later when Big Brother and the Holding Company released their version.
