Prime Minister Trudeau visited Fort McMurray Friday. The first thing he says he noticed from his plane was the blackened forest surrounding the city, then the devastated parts of he city. Upon landing, he said the first thing you notice is the heavy smoke; the smell in the area. Trudeau gave assurances that the government will be there as the city recovers and rebuilds, noting that for many years Fort McMurray contributed huge amounts to Canada’s well-being, now it’s time to give back.
