Man Handed Over More Than $12000 In Fraud Case
Police are once again reminding everyone that phones scams are very real. An Innisfil Senior found that out the hard way. South Simcoe Police say the man received a call by some claiming to be from the banks security division, and he convinced the man that a local teller was stealing from people. After giving the senior citizen enough information, the victim went along with the scam and transferred over 12-thousand dollars into another account. Police say this is known as the Bank Inspector Scam and it does happen. They remind everyone to not give any information out over the phone. A happy ending for this Fraud case though. The man from Innisfil was lucky enough to have the bank reimbursed his money.
