Survey Finds Canadians Want Syrian Refugee Process Slowed Down

A survey from Mainstreet/Postedia has found 53 per cent of Canadians disapprove of the government’s plan to bring Syrian refugees to Canada. Many feel the process needs to be slowed down to ensure proper security screening. Barrie Innisfil MP John Brassard has expressed the same feeling in a letter to Prime Minister Trudeau. He urged to ensure approved applicants are legitimately fleeing a dangerous situation; that they are not militants seeking to cause harm.
