Freddie Mercury’s voice is amazing but why? Science explains.

Austrian, Czech, and Swedish researchers have proven he’s just as good a singer as we all thought!

There were rumours that he could sing four octaves but the researchers weren’t able to prove that. However, they did find that he was extremely skilled at modulating his voice. He could make his voice sound smooth or rough and it’s because his vibrato frequency was a few notches above the standard for classically trained vocalists.

He also used subharmonics in his singing by vibrating his ventricular folds, a technique typically used only by Tuvan throat singers.
