Stolen Bike Spawns Brawl in Downtown Barrie

Two Men Fight When One Recognizes Bike As His

A scuffle in downtown Barrie over a supposedly stolen bike has lead to charges. Around 8:30 last night, police say a fella left the Salvation Army and spotted a bike he reported stolen at the beginning of this month. When he went to grab it, that’s when he says he was confronted by a second man who started throwing punches. The first guy’s phone was smashed on the roadway during the scuffle too, while the bike ended up in the hands of the second guy. Police were called, and after a lot of talking and explaining, the second man, a 41-year-old from Barrie, was charged with Assault, Mischief, and Possession of Stolen Property.
