‘Sound’ Decisions Being Made In Oro-Medonte This Weekend

Concert music being monitored closely

The Township of Oro-Medonte has its ears on again this weekend with another big concert taking place at Burl’s Creek. Mayor Harry Hughes says sound monitors are at all four stages and at strategic locations around the township…

If those levels are exceeded there are automatic fines imposed. There’s also a hotline for residents to call if they think the sound is getting out of hand…

Hughes say they want to get a handle on how sound is travelling from the stages, and given certain atmospheric conditions, to help better deal with sound issues at future events. The hotline number to call – do not call police, it’s a bylaw matter, not a criminal matter – is 705-487-4025.
