Snow Plow Contractors Told To Do A Better Job

Took too long to clear some major routes last winter

Transportation Minister Steve Del Duca has had a chat with the contractors the province uses to clear snow from some highways. he says he told them they have to do a better job this winter. One of the firms has been fined $900,000 for not doing an adequate job along the QEW in the GTA last winter. There were also many complaints about snow removal in the Huntsville-area. The auditor-general found it sometimes took more than four hours for a plow to show up on some heavily travelled routes.
