Snow Coming, But How Much, When And Where?

Barrie may get off lightly

Yes, snow is on the way, but Environment Canada says the system bringing it is veering further north than first thought, so we’re looking at maybe five centimetrs in the Barrie-area, closer to ten centimetres around Midland before it changes to rain this evening. Through Parry Sound region, Huntsville and Haliburton a Snowfall Warning remains in effect – up to 25 centimetres of snow could fall in those areas before the rain comes near midnight.

This, of course, raises the level of flood concern in the region. Ramara Township is watching the Black River closely, providing sand for residents in prone areas. The potential for flooding has been an issue through Muskoka for the past couple of weeks with the rain/snow/thaw cycle we’ve been going through.
