Simcoe County Students Celebrate International Day Of Pink

Taking a stand against bullying and homophobia

It is the International Day of Pink – a celebration of diversity and a rallying cry against bullying, homophobia and transphobia. Thirty-six shops and businesses in downtown Barrie have allowed Grade 6, 7 and 8 students from several schools to design pink-themed windows, combining the branding of the store with bullying prevention and equity themed pink displays. Schools in AllistonAlcona, Creemore, Midland, Collingwood and Tottenham are taking part in celebrations as well. And there’s a flag raising this afternoon at Barrie City Hall.
