Simcoe County Adds 104 Acres Of Forest to Collection

Bradford-Area Kirkup Woods Newest Addition to Massive Forest Inventory

Simcoe County’s massive inventory of forests has just grown by 104 acres. The county today announced they’ve acquired the Bradford-area property and will call it the Kirkup Woods in honour of the family who had owned the land since 1921. Kirkup Woods was part of a larger family farm in the Concession 12 area, and will be added to Simcoe County’s 32,700 total acres of forested space. Simcoe County holds the title as largest municipally owned forests in Ontario.
