UPDATE: Persons of Interest ID’d In Barrie Shooting

May 5 After reviewing video surveillance recordings from the area, Barrie Police say they have identified several ‘persons of interest’ in the shooting last friday night at an apartment building on Edgehill Drive. They have yet to determine how these individuals may have been involved and what led to the shooting.  

May 2 Barrie Police say one of two Toronto men arrested on Friday evening has been charged with Dangerous Driving, Flight From Police, and Probation Violation. He was arrested along with the shooting victim, after eyewitnesses reported seeing the pair run from the scene of the shooting. The victim, age 19, has since been released from hospital. He has not been charged.

May 1 Barrie Police are still searching for three suspects following Friday nights shooting at an apartment on Edgehill Dr. Police say three shots were fired through a door in the building, hitting a male victim twice. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for non life threatening injuries. Authorities are asking for any witnesses to step forward or to call crime stoppers.

April 30 Shots were fired last night in Barrie at 90 Edgehill Drive. Barrie Police say several shots were fire through a closed door, an adult male inside struck twice. He and a friend were seen fleeing the scene by vehicle. Police spotted the them near Tiffina and Innisfil Streets, attempted to pull the vehicle over, but they say the driver sped off colliding with a nearby utility pole. Both men were taken into custody, one was transferred to Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment. Police feel this was a targetted shooting; that the victim and suspect were known to each other. They do not believe there is any further threat to public safety.
