“Selfie” Statue Irks Residents Of Texas Town

Part of collection donated by local artist

Statues have been popping up around Sugar Land, Texas. They are part of a 10-piece collection donated by a local artist. One features a man playing a guitar, another is of a young girl and boy skateboarding and rollerblading. Residents are fine with those. It’s the one featuring two smiling women in a slight stooping stance, with one holding a cellphone, arm outstretched, to snap a picture ‘selfie’ of themselves. Some say it promotes a narcissistic society.
