UPDATE: Bus Driver Charged After Innisfil Collision Sends Students To Hospital

Three of Fifteen Suffer Serious Injuries, One Airlifted To Toronto

Fifteen students from Nantyr Shores Secondary School were taken to hospital, most as a precaution, after their bus was involved in a collision with a pick-up truck this morning in Innisfil. The 73-year-old driver of the bus has since been charged with Failing to Stop, after police say the Barrie man drove through the 4th Line and 5th Sideroad intersection around 7:45 Wednesday morning.

One was airlifted to hospital in Toronto with non-life threatening injuries, while two other students are said to have suffered serious injury as well. The Simcoe County District School Board says social workers were on hand at Nantyr Shores Secondary following the crash, and will be on hand to support any student needing it.

The driver of the pick up truck was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

Witnesses are asked to call police at 705-436-2141 or 705-775-3311.
