RIDE Check Takes Midland Man’s Vehicle and License…

...And Gives Him A Drunk Driving Charge

A Midland man is off the road for a time, after passing through a spot check. Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers set up a ride at Highway 12 near Triple Bay Road in Tay Township on Monday evening, and started checking for drunk drivers. Just after 10:00, they say a vehicle approached, and police say they could tell the guy had been drinking after talking to him for a few minutes. A roadside breath test registered a “fail” so the 61-year-old man was taken back to the stationhouse and charged with Drunk Driving. His vehicle was impounded for a week, while his license was suspended for 90 days.
