Resale Housing Prices Soar In Barrie, Essa

But don't be deceived

Barrie and District realtors have crunched the numbers for September. The average price for a detached home in Barrie was $476,668 – a 25% increase over September 2015. But wait, in Essa Township the average price is up 51 per cent to $546,722. But the increases are deceiving. Mike Douglas of Remax Chay, and head of the Barrie and District Association of Realtors, says it doesn’t necessarily mean everyone’s house is worth that much more, it could be the homes that sold this fall were much larger than those that sold last fall.   • Town of Innisfil – Detached residential properties in the Town of Innisfil posted an average selling price of $526,811 in September 2016, an increase of 17% over the month of September 2015
  • Oro‐Medonte Township – The average selling price for detached residential properties in Oro‐Medonte in September 2016 was $536,321, an increase of 8% over September 2015
  • Springwater Township – Detached residential homes in Springwater Township posted an average selling price in September 2016 of $5623,443 an increase of 2% over September 2015
