South Simcoe Police Recognizing Citizen For Stepping In

A suspected drunk driver is off the streets, thanks to a concerned citizen. South Simcoe Police got the call around 10:00 last night by a citizen alarmed at the erratic driving of the vehicle in front of him. The suspect vehicle came to a stop and the caller was able to get the guy’s keys from him. Officers showed up and took a 40-year-old Barrie man downtown to be charged with Drunk Driving, while saluting the citizen’s actions on this one.
